London, 1 August 2020 – Textron Aviation is set to close both of its line service centres by October of this year. It is understood that staff had been notified of the plans just over a week ago, however, no public announcement has yet been made about the closures and redundancies of staff affected so far.
Textron Aviation operates two line service centres in the United Kingdom, one at Doncaster Sheffield Airport along with another at Biggin Hill Airport. Both service centres are certified to handle all variants of Cessna Citation, Cessna Caravan, Beechcraft and Hawker aircraft.
Services offered by Textron Aviation include both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, AOG Events, avionics modifications, Part M and Part NCC CAMO services, Part-21 design, repairs, interior works and full paintwork services.
This will be a large blow for customers in the business aviation sector as they recover from the effects of COVID-19 now global travel has become less restrictive and aircraft begin to operate flights again. Both line service centres attracted a variety of clients from global business travel leader Netjets to business jets visiting from as far away as Kenya for their highly specialised services and skilled workforce.
