Volga Dnepr An124 Ruslan marketed by Heavylift on the Romeo Apron at Schiphol in April 1992. 28 years later on Friday the 13th of November 2020 this aircraft received substantial damage when during take off from Novosibirsk, it suffered an uncontained failure of the No2 engine. Scrapnel form the engine penetrated fuselage and wing and damaged cables and electric systems. In the following emergency landing the aircraft could not deploy trust reversers and had minimal braking capacity, resulting in a runway overrun which collapsed the nose gear. Luckily all crew onboard escaped uninjured.
