20th February 2021 now flying for Longtail Aviation as VQ-BWT , aircraft suffered #1 engine failure shortly after take-off from Maastricht Aachen Airport (MST) with falling debris causing damage on the ground in Meerssen village below flight path. Crew diverted to Liege (LGG) after dumping fuel for a safe landing.
This aircraft in its 30+ years of service has flown for Singapore Airlines as 9V-SMI from Feb 1991 to July 2004 , in storage with Boeing Capital Corporation as N223BA from July 2004 to October 2005 , flew as VT-AIQ for Air India from Oct 2005 to Oct 2006 ,converted by Boeing Capital Corporation as N223BA in Oct 2006 entered into service with Martinair Holland as PH-MPQ from Feb 2007 to May 2010 , with ACG Air Cargo Germany as D-ACGC from May 2010 to August 2013, returned to Martinair Holland as PH-MPQ from August 2013 to Jun 2017 returned to Boeing Capital Corporation as N223BA with Rubystar from April 2018 to October 2020 and now with Longtail Aviation as VQ-BWT since 20th November 2020 .
