Arriving into Birmingham Airport from Keflavik for a short fuel stop, the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS)’s latest Beechcraft King Air 360 turboprop lands in the United Kingdom on the fourth leg of a lengthy delivery flight towards the Southern Hemisphere.
Built in Kansas at Beechcraft’s Wichita-located Beech Factory Airport, the King Air 360 is a new, updated offshoot of the highly-successful King Air 350 series, offering cockpit equipment upgrades, a new autothrottle system, and an improved cabin experience.
Configured with a side-mounted cargo door, a nose-mounted enhanced vision system sensor and 5-blade propellers, the RFDS will use this King Air 360C in emergency patient care and vital round-the-clock transportation across Australia, within a fleet of over 80 aircraft – including King Air 200s, King Air 300s, and the Swiss-built Pilatus PC-12 and PC-24 STOL aircraft.
Upon arrival in Australia, the aircraft will be stripped of its temporary American registration, and will fly as VH-FDW.
