RXI5010 / RXI5010 from Riyadh (RUH) .

First week into the proving flights of Riyadh Air the second national carrier of Saudi Arabia as they aim to get a AOC i.e Air Operator Certificate from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation regulatory body General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). The airline intends to launch commercial operation in 2025 using a fleet of Boeing 787-9 Dream)Liner aircraft powered by GEnx-1B engines for regional operations and expand to more destinations gradually .

As of today (18th September 2024) , the airline has completed proving flights to Jeddah (JED) , Tabuk (TUU) in Saudi Arabia and Dubai (DXB) in the United Arab Emirates and Mumbai (BOM) , India being first outside of the middle east all from its base at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport using a leased Boeing 787-9 aircraft from Saudi Arabian Airlines which was also their first 787 delivered on 27th January 2016 and registered HZ-ARA.
