Positioned in from Prestwick, Lithuanian charter specialist KlasJet’s Boeing 737-300F spends the night on the Elmdon stands at Birmingham Airport, awaiting a departure with freight the next day towards Luxembourg.
The only pure-freighter Boeing 737 in the airline’s fleet, LY-MRN began life as a passenger aircraft, and with a substantial conversion by Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) to their ‘Bedek’ specially-designed freighter variant, flew for Icelandic cargo outfit Bluebird Cargo from 2005 to 2020 as TF-BBG.
With the previous owner now rebranded Bluebird Nordic, and operating a fleet of only Boeing 737-400s on a European freight network, LY-MRN remains the last -300 aircraft to retain the original Bluebird scheme, albeit with a new owner.
