James Brown’s painstakingly restored 1942 Harvard IIB spends a night on the grass at Cosby’s Foxlands Farm in Leicestershire, lined up for an evening photoshoot at the 2021 Victory Show in between the weekend’s flying displays.
Built by Noorduyn Aviation in Montréal, Canada – and currently flying in a period paint scheme as ‘FE511’ with White Waltham-based Hurricane Heritage – the aircraft flew with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and the Swedish Air Force throughout her service life, before being withdrawn from use in 1969, passing through a few civilian owners and operators since then – conducting in Sweden it’s first flight post-restoration in April 2009, and arriving in the UK in 2016.
