Running in at speed for his first manoeuvre, Aviation Commander Steven ‘Vrieske’ de Vries pulls away from the display line and makes a powerful entrance with the Belgian Air Force’s F-16 Solo Display aircraft at the 2022 RAF Cosford Air Show.
Named ‘Dream Viper’ and revealed a few days beforehand in it’s current snake-inspired scheme, FA-87 flew its first public appearance in de Vries’ hands over Cosford – taking over from the previous display flown by Senior Captain Stefan ‘Darte’ Vador and his Star Wars-esque F-16AM FA-101 ‘Dark Falcon’.
After this year’s display, de Vries deservedly walked away with Cosford’s Bill Hartree Trophy for the ‘Most Entertaining Flying Display’ of the day.
