One of the last appearences of Belavia in Europe after the EU banned all Belavian carriers just 36h after this picture was taken – effective from the 25th of May on. Reason was the forced landing of a Ryanair B738 in Minsk due to a made-up bombwarning local authorities stated to have received via Mail from the Palestine Hamas terror group. The aircraft was originally on its way from Greece to Lithuania, but was then forced to land in MSQ by Belarus fighter jets (type MiG-29), which allowed the local authorities to arrest Roman Protasewitsch in Minsk after landing, who is a member of the opposition and journalist.
