After an eight-hour stop on the Elmdon tarmac being refuelled and loaded with pallets of outbound freight, Aviastar-TU’s first attendance at Birmingham Airport comes to an end – with
one of the airline’s uniquely schemed ‘Russian Post’ Tupolev Tu-204Cs lining up at the full length of Runway 33 at sunset, departing back to Russia and Vnukovo International, Moscow with TUP3302.
A scheme rarely seen outside Russia, just two Aviastar-TU Tu-204Cs operate in the livery of the Почта России – Pochta Rossii – often found with other ATU aircraft flying airfreight and mail across the country for Russia’s national postal operator.
