Aviastar-TU’s TUP6488 vacates Runway 33 at Birmingham Airport, on arrival from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International, China – via Novosibirsk’s Tolmachevo International in Russia – the second visit of an aircraft this year from the Zhukovsky-based cargo airline. Aviastar-TU operates examples of both the Boeing 757-200F, and the often-compared Tupolev Tu-204-100C aircraft across their network.
VQ-BON was originally built in 1995, and previously served as a passenger aircraft for American Airlines as N603AA, before undergoing the conversion to pure-freighter status.
