First day of commercial operations for India’s newest airline , Akasa Air , with double daily service introduced on the Mumbai – Ahmedabad – Mumbai route . Akasa Air is a Low Cost Carrier ( LCC ) based in Mumbai , India which will have a fleet of Boeing 737-8 MAX in all economy 189 seat configuration .
Akasa Air will focus on mainly connecting metro cities like Mumbai , Bengaluru to smaller tier two cities like Ahmedabad , Kochi and a Mumbai – Bengaluru from 19th August 2022 and Mumbai – Chennai route from 15th September 2022 .
