Close-up view of the mid emergency door plug and surrounding area on this Aeromexico MAX9. On January 6th 2024 the FAA announced their plan to order a grounding of all MAX9 in the US and US Airspace for plug inspection after a plug fell out in flight on an Alaska Airlines MAX9 on January 5th.
This plug is installed in place of the mid emergency door for configurations up to 189 seats. No operators based in North America have opted for the door on their MAX9 aircraft.
