Filled with fuel ahead of a lengthy journey east, the ferry crew onboard World Star Aviation’s Airbus A319-100 accelerates on the takeoff roll from Runway 09 at East Midlands Airport, departing towards Ulaanbataar’s Buyant-Ukhaa International Airport in Mongolia – via a brief tech stop in Istanbul, Turkey.
Freshly repainted a month ago in Airbourne Colours’ aircraft painting facility located in Hangar 35, the aircraft is to now become the first Airbus A319 for Aero Mongolia, one of the country’s two national airlines – and is set to serve alongside the East Asian airline’s fleet of two Embraer ERJ-145 regional jets.
Departing the UK with a temporary Guernsey aircraft registration applied, the aircraft was previously flying in Europe as OO-SSI with Brussels Airlines.
