Aero Legends’ Douglas C-47 ‘Drag ’em Oot’ spends the night on the grass at Cosby’s Foxlands Farm in Leicestershire, parked in echelon with the Legends’ other example of type – Douglas DC-3C Dakota G-ANAF – assembled for a late-evening photoshoot under floodlight at the 2021 Victory Show weekend display.
Under the care of the Headcorn Aerodrome-based organisation, N473DC is a World War II and D-Day veteran, having flown for the United States Army Air Force, Royal Air Force and Royal Canadian Air Force during her life – before exiting to civilian hands, and decades later arriving into the UK for preservation and a return to her wartime appearance, as the 87th Troop Carrier’s 42-100882 in 2005.
