For the first time in history, a passenger seaplane lands at La Palma, and for the first time, since Franco´s dictatorship, a passenger seaplane is used on a passenger flight in Spain. A series of demo flights were carried out on January 31st by Nordic Seaplanes owned DHC6-300 OY-NSA on behalf of Surcar Airlines, the new Canary Islands start-up that aims to start regular flights in Autumn this year for business and holiday fliers who will benefit from short boarding times and capital to capital flights, avoiding the need for a ride to and from airports.

These flights came with a new regulation of AESA´s (Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Aérea) chapter for passenger seaplanes.

    A truly historic flight.
