Puerto Rico-based Aircraft Engine Lease Finance (AELF) FlightService’s first Airbus A330-200 arrives through a brief spell of sunlight on short final to Runway 33 at Birmingham, positioning in from Ukraine’s Kyiv Boryspil International Airport with MLT330M, for scheduled maintenance with STS Aviation Services in their hangar on the Elmdon side of the airfield.
Retaining the basic red-and-white livery of her previous Turkish operator Atlas Global, the 345-seat aircraft is now operated by Maltese ACMI specialists Maleth Aero – which AELF has had a majority share in since earlier this year – and can be found like others in-fleet around the world providing short-notice passenger capacity to airlines in need.
As a result of a successful long-term contract between the airline and STS agreed only a few weeks ago, more of the AELF FlightService fleet will pass through the widebody facility at Birmingham this year for base maintenance – with 9H-MFS being the first to arrive.
